ASIA through the eyes of AFP. 9th Angkor Photo Festival - Siem Reap

AFP is honoured to take part in the Angkor Photo Festival with a selection of our best 100 Asian photos from the past year covering news and features to sport and fashion selected by our Asia-Pacific regional team. AFP Asia-Pacific has a team of 60 photographers working out of 27 bureaus across the region. AFP has a network of more than 400 photographers, who have regularly won top international prizes. In 2012 our photographer Massoud Hossaini won the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for photography with his images of an explosion outside a mosque in Kabul.

 

The Angkor Photo Association was created in 2005 by a group of photographers. Focusing on the values of Discovery, Education, and Sharing, it organizes 3 main activities: The Angkor-Photo Festival- Angkor-Photo Workshops - Anjali Kids Photo Workshops. This year will be the 9th edition of the festival. Created in 2005, the Angkor Photo Festival is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. Held every year in the bustling town of Siem Reap, Cambodia, the weeklong festival features exhibitions, slideshows, and other activities.

 

The agency transmits more than 3,000 photos a day with an image bank of over 40 partners and can boast some 23 million images. The international photo service was created in 1985 and has increased its production sevenfold since 2000.
