AFP is official partner of the Women’s Forum in Myanmar

AFP is taking part as a media partner in the Women’s Forum in Yangon on December 6 and 7.

The event brings together more than 300 of Myanmar’s women from politics, economics, humanitarian organisations and civil society, as well as more than 150 international leaders and opinion makers.

It is aimed at emphasising the role of women in Myanamar’s fast-opening society.

Following on from the Women’s Forum Global Meeting which was held in Deauville, France in October, this conference will feature plenary sessions and round tables on such themes as responsible investment and the role of women in peace building and the media.

As a conference partner, AFP will be represented by Myanmar correspondent Hla Hla Htay.

Hla Hla will take part in the session on freedom of expression on December 6 from 18h45 to 19h45 alongside Daw Zin Mar Aung, winner of the 2012 International Women of Courage award, Cambodian opposition politician and human rights activist Mu Sochua, Financial Times Asia news editor Louise Lucas and Le Monde Editorial Director Sylvie Kauffmann.
