Anne Guérin appointed AFP's Managing Director
Anne Guérin has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Agence France-Presse (AFP). She will take over the role from January next year, replacing Dalila Zein who held the position since 2018 and significantly contributed to the Agency’s financial recovery during her tenure.
A graduate of ESCP Business School, Guérin, 55, has spent most of her career in entrepreneurship development at the Bpifrance group, where she served as the Executive Director until last July.
Guérin played a pivotal role in formulating and executing Bpifrance’s mission, which focused on revitalising French industry through innovation, fostering business growth, and supporting companies as they expanded into international markets.
Guérin was also responsible for Bpifrance’s climate plan, implemented in 2019 to encourage the energy transition of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and contribute to the development of green energy in France.
‘‘With her solid financial and operational experience, strong knowledge of the business world, and a desire to fulfil a general interest mission, Anne possesses all the qualities to continue and enhance the work of recovery and development accomplished by the Agency in recent years,’’ said Fabrice Fries, AFP’s Chairman and CEO.
