AFP Wins AIB News Agency of the Year 2020 Video Award
AFP is proud to have been awarded the AIB News Agency of the Year 2020 Video Award, as part of the Awards’ 16th edition.
Phil Chetwynd, AFP Global News Director, praised the AFPTV teams across the world for their ability to adapt to the Covid-19 pandemic. He notes that “we’ve been forced to be agile, creative and to constantly built on our shared experience”, and as a result of these experiences — especially those in Wuhan back in January — we have successfully built “safe protocols about how we work in a time of Covid-19”.
He also highlighted the role that technological developments have played in Agency’s wrote, writing that the “use of mobile technology and live production has allowed us to work in a much safer and immersive way in dangerous situations”, such as protests in France, Chili, Hong Kong or Black Lives Matter in the United States.
